Before the creation of a stoyjumper, we have to take into account some steps:
- Creation of groups in an aleatory way using classdojo website. Each group will be composed of 4 students.
Each group will be divided into: drawer, writer, organizer and speaker.
When each student knows their role, they have to create the story following the story parts:
1. Presentation of the characters and contexts.
2. Plot of the story.
3. End of the story.
4. Values.
There is a clear sequence to follow:
- Creation of groups and roles.
- Do a collaborative draft in a sheet of paper including the different parts of the story.
- Teacher will supervise this draft.
- They could do the storyjumper adding things:
1st member: create the scene in all the pages.
2nd member: insert pictures of the characters of images which appear in the story.
3rd person: add the dialogues.
4th person: add the voice recorder and supervise all the work.
In this case, our students have specific steps to consider and also the could develop their imagination but always using all they have learnt along the unit.
Students love watching the final product and work in teams. They don’t like lack of time and it a hard work to organised it properly, as we know, not all students have the same interests and abilities.
We will share this project using moodle website, and in class, the teacher will present them.
Students have the opportunity to co- evaluation for example with the completion of a rubric created by the teacher and also with whole group disscussions.
- The elaboration of this writing task is a product approach. The main aims are:
To put into practice the vocabulary learnt in the unit studied about days of the week and food.
To Consolidate the written form adding /s/ in the 3rd person singular of present simple tense.
To work on social values.
